01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Step off the escalators onto the 4th floor of the New Shimbashi Building right by Shimbashi Station, and the bustle of the lower levels drops away. Here, BASE cafe&lounge offers a calmer retreat. Done in monochrome tones with both counter and table seating, the space functions as an easygoing hideaway whenever you want to pause and reset on your own.
Carefully Brewed Coffee and Colorful Floats
For an afternoon coffee break, the menu covers straightforward drip brews, an original blend, and cafe lattes rich with steamed milk. Each cup is poured with care to bring out a clean, solid flavor. Just as prominent are the cafe's ice cream sodas: along with classic melon, peach, Kyoho grape, and mango floats, the counter mixes an adult version spiked with alcohol. Watching the scoop of ice cream slowly melt into the chilled fizz makes for a leisurely pause in the middle of the day.
Bento Lunches and Unhurried Afternoons
At midday, the cafe serves lunch sets featuring Tamagoya bento boxes alongside rice and a mini drink, with the option to add a mini salad bar. Afterward, guests linger over a second drink or coffee, catching up on quiet work or chatting softly in the relaxed room at whatever pace suits them.
